Who we are

  • Mrs Win Sheldon

    Chair of Governors

My family has lived in Dorset for over thirty years. We have practised our faith within the parish throughout that time. My husband and I have two grown up children and celebrated the birth of our first Grandchild just before Christmas. I retired last year from a long career in education , where I had been a Headteacher of a successful Catholic Primary School in Dorset. I have always found having contact with schools to be very fulfilling. It is a great privilege to work with professional and committed staff, who enable children to grow and learn in a safe and happy environment. I look forward to having the opportunity to support the community of St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s, which provides the children with a Christian environment which celebrates them as individuals and encourages them to develop positive attitudes to learning.

  • Mrs Karen Buckett

    Foundation Governor

I was appointed as a Foundation Governor in September 2015 and will be serving on the School Development Committee. My early years were spent in Bovington before being married to a member of HM Forces. We travelled around various parts of the world before coming back to settle in Bovington in 1984. I have worked as a teaching assistant for the past 21 years at Dorset Police Headquarters in Winfrith. My 4 boys all left home some years ago and we have 20 grandchildren attending various schools in the UK and some in Germany, hence my interest in schools and current schooling issues. In my leisure time I am Treasurer of the Parish, enjoy reading, gardening, going to the theatre and spending time with my family

  • Mrs Hazel Serkis

    Community Governor

As a parent of a child attending St Mary & St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Year 3, I am extremely interested in the performance and welfare of the school. We have lived in Wool for 7 years having settled here after 12 years service in the RAF. I currently work as an administration office and data manager at a local school having always worked in administration and finance. I am passionate about my community and volunteer as secretary for the adopted children's social committee in Dorset helping adopted children in Dorset enjoy various social activities and support.
